⚠️ BEWARE OF BOGUS INJECTORS – IMPERSONATING A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE! ⚠️
In South Africa, ONLY HPCSA-registered medical doctors and dentists are legally permitted to administer botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, threads, and lipolytic injections. Likewise, ONLY registered doctors can prescribe weight loss injections like Ozempic.
🚨 If a beauty therapist, hairdresser, or any unqualified individual is performing these procedures, they are impersonating a healthcare professional – which is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE.
We have recently been informed of a flight attendant illegally injecting patients – this is NOT just unethical, it’s extremely DANGEROUS.
🔴 WHY THIS IS SERIOUS:
Impersonating a medical professional violates Section 17 of the Health Professions Act (Act No. 56 of 1974), which requires proper HPCSA registration before practicing any healthcare profession. Failure to comply constitutes a CRIMINAL offense.
Those caught may face charges of fraud and identity theft, leading to hefty fines and imprisonment. The HPCSA, in collaboration with law enforcement, actively investigates and prosecutes these fraudulent activities to safeguard public health.
⚠️ AAMSSA STANDS AGAINST BOGUS INJECTORS! These illegal injectors lack the proper medical training, putting patients at serious risk of infection, nerve damage, vascular occlusion, necrosis, blindness, and even life-threatening complications.
🔎 REPORT FRAUDULENT INJECTORS! If you suspect unqualified individuals performing medical procedures, report them immediately to the HPCSA or the AAMSSA office.
