📎It’s not surprising that there is now a condition known as “Facial Overfilled Syndrome”! The Overfilled Syndrome is seen in patients who have had volume overload from dermal fillers in the mid face, lips, chin and jawline.
📎Incorrectly placed dermal fillers in the superficial fat pads, poor selection of filler products, overzealous attempts by the doctors, overly enthusiastic patients and distorted reality on social media are to blame for this phenomenon.
📎Many of those who have Overfilled Syndrome have lost their original facial topography and are often not even aware of how alien they look.
📎Increased awareness of the Overfilled Syndrome is crucial among aesthetic practitioners and patients alike.
📎There is currently a rise in the popularity of biostimulators such as PLLA and CaHA which promote collagen synthesis, restoring skin firmness and strength without over-volumising. This reduces the need for too many dermal fillers.
