😣STATIC lines are the ones that stick around even when you’re not moving a muscle. They’re the deeper creases that have been etched into the skin over time from repeated movement, combined with age-related changes like thinning skin and loss of collagen and elastin. Static lines make us look permanently cross, tired or anxious even when we aren’t.

🔍As we get older our dynamic lines slowly become static lines. The secret is to prevent this happening.

⭐️Now this is the big difference:

✅Botulinum toxin works beautifully on dynamic lines. By relaxing the underlying muscle, the skin smooths out and the wrinkle disappears like magic.

❌ But static lines? That’s another story. Neurotoxin alone won’t do the trick, because, like the marble statue in this image, those grooves are literally carved or etched into the skin. You can relax the muscle underneath, but the line’s still going to be there.

💪 That’s when we need to bring in the collagen-building team:  like microneedling, RF microneedling, lasers, polynucleotides and exosomes. Sometimes we’ll also use fine line fillers or skin boosters to soften the lines.

🗓️We always recommend having your botulinum toxin every 4 months. Waiting 6 months or longer gives static lines a chance to sneak in.

🩺So, if you’ve had your toxin and you’re still seeing those stubborn forehead lines or crow’s feet, don’t blame the botulinum. It’s doing its job relaxing muscles. But it doesn’t rejuvenate the skin…that’s where the rest of our toolkit comes in.
