On 26 March 2024 Swissmedic released a public warning about 🍋 Lemon Bottle Fat dissolving injections.

  • Swissmedic expressly warns against using “Lemon Bottle” which is marketed as a natural fat reduction cosmetic product especially through online channels.
  • Swissmedic is the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products. It is the national authority responsible for the authorization and supervision of therapeutic products in Switzerland, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and biologics.
  • One of its overarching aims is to ensure that only high-quality, safe and effective therapeutic products are placed on the market in order to protect human and animal health.

The Swissmedic report on Lemon Bottle highlights four important factors:

  1. Products for injection fall under the law on therapeutic products, regardless of how deeply they are injected into the skin. Because Lemon Bottle is administered as an injection, they cannot be marketed as cosmetics.
  2. No medicinal effect of Lemon Bottle has been scientifically proven.
  3.  The quality of the ingredients has not been tested and therefore using the product poses a health risk.
  4. None on the declared ingredients could be detected by the Swissmedic laboratory in the samples of “Lemon Bottle” lipolysis solution obtained from various sources.

“The official Swissmedic laboratory has analysed product samples from various sources and found that the ingredients do not match the declaration and even vary greatly from one pack to another. Thus in one sample the only substance found was caffeine, while in another none of the ingredients listed on the packaging could be detected. These products can therefore be regarded as falsifications.”
